Shimmers, sequins and streetwear shine are a major trend.
The key to making it work for you, is juxtaposition.

Work the look with oversized cashmere and heels for night, and a crisp white shirt and trainers for day.
A good friend of mine say's when she is feeling tired, that a bit of sparkle and a slick of red lippy, makes her ready to face the world.......
Worth a try!

I love a bit of sparkle! The first H&M skirt is beautiful! So gorgeous. Lynne x
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt and it looks so good in the flesh......you could easily put it in a designer price bracket, but hate the cap on the model.....Why would you do that? Helen xx
DeleteCan't resist a bit of bling Helen & you've picked some lovely high street pieces. I must wear my Zara sequin jacket again.

My Midlife Fashion
So do I, and have made it my mantra this winter to sparkle more, especially as my wardrobe is 99% black, grey, navy and denim! Helen xx
DeleteLove this trend Helen! Am struggling to choose a favourite from all this lovely lot! Those H&M silver sequinned trousers, the H&M skirt and Mango shift dress are wonderful! xx
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine bought the H&M skinny sequinned trousers and they did look amazing on her! Helen xx
DeleteAh-ha Helen....this is where my plan could go seriously off-piste!! Love the Zara silver flats and the DP sequin skirt is amazing but the one thing I don't think I can live without for the up and coming party season is the New Look premium sequinned top....how totally fabulous! Superb picks as always xx
ReplyDeleteI love that top too, reckon it could work hard with all our jeans for casual xmassy doos! Helen xx
DeleteI love that first H&M sequinned skirt - the colours are lovely on that but if only I had the legs to carry it off and anywhere to go in it too. Two strikes against already - gah! And the Zara sequinned jacket - my niece has that one and it is lovely but very fragile. She tried about 5 before she found her perfect one.
ReplyDeleteAnd that little jumpsuit at the end, courted some controversy didn't it? Due to the styling on their tv campaign as it very similar to some women's army outfit and it caused an outcry that it was very disrespectful.
I know Sue short skirts and legs are always a dilemma, but with opaques and toning footwear it could work for you maybe?
DeleteRe: the jumpsuit...just wait till the twitteratti start commenting on Marc JacobsSS15 collection....take a look http://www.vogue.com/fashion-week/1067937/marc-jacobs-spring-2015-rtw/ ....nearly every military style referenced in this collection! Helen xx
Great post.

DeleteHi my lovely! As usual you've sourced some really covetable pieces- I so love the first H&M sequinned skirt and also their trousers too, if I had more occasions to go to they would be on my buying list! xxx
ReplyDeleteThose trousers...... I imagine dancing around in studio 54 sometime circa early 70's ? xx
DeleteI've seen a few of the H&M pieces in person and they look so designer chic! Always love to see some metallic for the holidays, feels so glam and amazing finds as always, I spend way too much time shopping your posts ;-)
