KITCHEN SINK DREAMS!

I love interiors almost as much as I love fashion, and thought that as I am in the process of re-designing my house, I would post a few ideas that are in my scrapbook.

Inspiration for my kitchen........ sort of rustic meets urban?

Love to know what you think?

Salvaged Wood Kitchen Island Large

I have always loved beach combed wood, the almost grey colour, the softened edges, and the open grain........so beautiful.

This salvaged wood island piece would work so well, and the stools just give it a bit more of a punch!

Not that my kitchen is anywhere near this size, but again love the textures and materials used here.

I will have to get drinking a bit more wine if I am to have a go at creating this quirky chandelier........ But I'm sure I can rise to the challenge?!

An altogether softer look here.

Folklore by Danielle and Rob Reid

I know this is a shop........but I just love the way they have designed it using reclaimed floorboards and scaffolding planks as shelves, a  great combination.

These shelves would be such an easy look to recreate!

Another great table, teamed with some metal chairs. The lampshade is pretty cool, don't you think?.......

I want to have a chill out area in the kitchen too, and I love these grain sack covered arm chairs.........great for the kids to jump over too!

I would like to use antique French linen to make the soft furnishings........

Makes me think of an old French bakery, but perhaps a bit too smart?

This look is a little more feminine, but still very gorgeous.

Hey, what fun are these forks? They have been bent to create some alternative hooks....... Maybe a car boot hunt seems like a good idea?

So if you have any thoughts ideas or pictures you would like to share with me, in my quest to get this room right, I would love to hear from you?

P.S. My next post will be back to the day job......FASHION!!

Love all the recycled/upcycled bits and bobs and adore the raw wood. I've really got the recycled/upcycled bug at the minute (thanks to Pinterest!!), there are some really beautiful and interesting pieces of furniture out there that just need some revamping. Great post, and its good to have a change sometime xxx

  7. love the use of white and bashed looking wood. Really nice mix. Some very good ideas there.

The forks as hooks are easy to do yourself. Well, relatively easy. I turned a cake fork into a hook a few years ago, should have taken minutes but making a hole in it took longer than I expected.

Thanks for the blog visit. I was chortling to self at your flower pinching granny tale. On my way back home this a.m, I saw some pretty roses and just for a minute thought 'could I?'. I didn't ! Fast forward to when I'm a little old lady, and I probably will!

  8. All the photos are great ;) I like the industrial/raw wood style very much, and the chandelier of wine bottles and the hooks made out of forks are really cool! I saw a photo in pinterest once, where an old fork was turned into a image frame stand. So one can use old forks for a lot of interior stuff :)

  9. Love it! Mixing a little old with new, or putting something out there that's a little unexpected adds so much to a room. The rustic piece with something soft or a chandelier is perfect! Thanks for stopping by today and I'm looking forward to following you!
